Hi, I’m Kate!

Welcome! I am so glad to meet you here. My name is Kate and I live in the Upper Midwest with the loons, lakes, husband Joe and five kids. I write to keep track of children, IEPs, therapies and schedules. Also beauty, faith and humor — lest I forget they are all there together.  These are my notes.

About Our Family

Joe and I have the joy of raising five kiddos ages 12 and under. We have three biological children and two children who have joined our family through international adoption (one in 2016 and one from a different country in 2019).  We are learning about intellectual disabilities, fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), cerebral palsy, apraxia, epilepsy, ADHD, childhood ptsd and more. These are in our day to day, every hour, every day. All our children are loved down to their very last molecule. 

Anything I write and post my kids will have read and approved (if they are readers). Their voices are strong and their stories are beautiful. I love being their mom.
